Sybil described how, given her understanding of judges’ expectations, she has had to control her clients’ anger when discussing legal strategy behind closed doors. She said:

I’ve had clients that are like, you know, “this is so unfair, this is what needs to happen, like we need to sue the police department, tell the judge fuck you.” And I’m just like, “Okay, but we’re not going to do that, because that’s not going to help us, and if I do it this way, it’s going to take a little longer, and it’s not going to be as ‘fight the power’ as you want it to be, but the end result is going to be exactly what you want it to be.”
